What's up readers!
Welcome back to my post. This post will talk about another important things in terms of Management Information System, which is about ethical and social issues.
Ethics is principles of right and wrong that individuals, acting as free moral agents, use to make choices to guide their behaviors. So, ethics and social issues is important for MIS, because information systems raise new ethical questions because they create opportunities for intense social change, threatening existing distribution of power, money, rights, and duties.
There are 3 basic concepts for ethical analysis, such as
1. Responsibility of accepting the duties and obligations for decisions
2. Accountability means the mechanism for identifying responsible parties
3. Liability means consequences and result
Ethical analysis covers 5 step processes, identifying and describe the facts clearly; define the conflict or dilemma and identify the higher-order values involved; identify the stakeholders; identify the options that reasonable; and identify the potential consequences of your options
